Host a PODD training

Bring a certified PODD presenter to your school district, clinic or region — and get a whole team trained together.

Why organizations host

PODD works best when everyone around a communicator knows the system — the teacher, the therapist, the family, the aide. Training one person at a time rarely achieves that. Hosting brings the course to your people instead of sending them away one by one, and leaves you with a team who can support each other afterwards.

What hosting involves

You bring the venue and the group

A room that works for hands-on practice, with table space for communication books, and enough participants to make the days worthwhile. Most hosts are districts, clinics or parent groups who already have a cohort who need this.

The presenter brings the course

Certified PODD presenters are approved to deliver specific courses. They bring the content, the demonstration books and the manuals participants take away with them.

You handle registration

Hosts set the price and manage sign-ups through whatever system they already use. Once your dates are confirmed, we will list the training here so people outside your organization can find it too.

Which training should you start with?

If your team is new to PODD, the two-day Introductory Workshop is almost always the right starting point. It is also the prerequisite for the Alternative Access and Alternative Presentation training and for the five-day Advanced course, so it has to come first regardless.

Not sure what you need?

Say so in the form. Describing who you support and what you are trying to achieve is more useful than picking a course title — we would rather point you at the right training than the one you happened to have heard of.

Tell us about your group

Fill this in and someone will be in touch to talk through dates, numbers and which presenters cover your area. Nothing here commits you to anything.
