Two Day Introduction to the PODD Language System — Nisku, Alberta

A two-day introductory course presented by Dr. Kathy Look Howery, a certified Canadian PODD trainer.

The course covers the PODD approach developed by Gayle Porter and focuses on direct access, with some demonstration of the alternative access and alternative presentation versions. Participants learn strategies for creating multi-modal language learning environments that provide receptive models and expressive opportunities, and for teaching and using PODD with children and their communication partners.

There is guided hands-on practice with PODD communication books, and every participant leaves with their own Introduction to PODD manual.
